MINUTES
of the Heart of Texas Bed and
Breakfast Owners Association Monthly Meeting
at Lakehaven Bed and
Breakfast, Lake Whitney
Tuesday, March 7, 2006
The meeting was called to order by President
Susan Mazanec. Members present were Joanne
Heitmiller, John and Marcia Boggs, Elmer
and Jo Ann Mulhausen, Ron and Barbara Epps,
Becky Hodges, Shirley Land, Sandra Twitty,
Jo Ann Weaver, Nancy Countess, and Susan
Mazanec.**
This was a social meeting, but some business
was discussed. The results of the email
poll were given by Susan Mazanec. 99% of
all members placed their votes by the
deadline, which fell in between the Feb. and
March meetings, in favor of the first
Tuesday of the month being the date of the
social and business meetings, and for the
accompanying bylaw change to reflect this.
Treasurer Sandra Twitty gave the treasurer's
report and a dues report.
Advertising possibilities were brought up
and discussed--the idea of boosting the
Association website's visibility, as well as
cost-per-click advertising. Jo Ann Weaver
made a motion for Susan Mazanec to look into
the potential benefits and costs of these
forms of advertising (not known who
seconded). Some members felt that we needed
to increase our internet exposure/search
engine standing, if possible, and keep print
advertising at a minimum, due to the fact
that most of the members' business comes
from the web.
A wonderful meal, wine and dessert were
provided by the hosts, Elmer and Jo Ann
Mulhausen, and enjoyed by all in attendance.
**The attendee list may not be correct,
as I don't have the list that was passed
around (?) and am basing this on my memory
of the event, which is limited. Please
bring any corrections to my attention.
Minutes respectfully submitted
by Susan Mazanec
