8, 2005 Meeting
The meeting of the Heart of
Texas Bed and Breakfast Association, held at the
Ranch Bunkhouse, was called to order by
president, Becky Hodges. Treasurer Sandra
Twitty read the treasurer’s report. The
association has a balance of $1500.40 and 10
memberships have been paid for 2005. Shirley
Land made a motion to accept the report as read,
and Marsha Boggs seconded, and members approved
the report.
Under old business, Becky
suggested that members who are interested in
participating in future Christmas tours form a
committee, and make necessary preparations to be
a part of the tour. Each owner can determine if
there will be admission charges. Jerry Walters
made a motion to accept this arrangement and it
was seconded by John Boggs. All members approved
the motion.
The committee working on
information concerning membership fees, web only
members, and inactive members requested more
time, as poll information from all owners has
not been returned. The full report will be
presented at the March meeting.
Susan Mazanec reported that
the booth at the bridal show was very
successful. Booth cost for each participating
booth was approximately $31.00.
Under new business, there
was discussion regarding associate members and
whether they should be allowed on the web site
and how much the membership should be. A
committee consisting of John Boggs, Pam Scobell
and Bill Bynum will look into the matter and
provide information at a future meeting.
Jerry Walters presented an
application for new membership. Country Charm,
operated by Joanne Heitmiller, is located in
West, Texas. The association voted to accept the
new member.
Becky Hodges led a program
discussion. The Bridal Show and marketing the
association, in general was discussed. Jerry
Walters suggested that we have a committee to
bring ideas for marketing. Members appointed to
this committee are Larry Price, Jo Ann Weaver
and Penny Mercer.
The next meeting will be
March 8, 2005 at the Countess Rose House,
Hillsboro, Texas.
Following adjournment,
an amazing array of refreshments was served by
the hosts.
