Monthly Meeting
at Bear Creek Guest House, Crawford
Tuesday, October 3, 2006
The October social meeting
of the Heart of Texas Bed & Breakfast Owners
Association was held at the Bear Creek Guest House
in Crawford. This was a social meeting and it was
well-attended. The B&B’s represented were The Back
Porch B&B (new), Bear Creek Guest House, Colcord
House, Cotton Palace, Country Charm, Creekside
Garden, Judge Baylor, Lakeview Guest House, Let’s Go
Country, and Rope The Wind Ranch & Retreat. Members
enjoyed a tour of Colcord House, as well as
refreshments.
After a tour and
refreshments were enjoyed by the members, items of
business were discussed, and announcements were made
as follows:
Information was given to the
Association members regarding a new HOTBBOA member,
Texas Star Bed and Breakfast, owned by DeYette and
Gary Pauer, who were not present. Becky Hodges made
a motion to accept the new members into the
association and Cindy Draper seconded. The motion
was passed.
Other items/announcements:

delivered to Firmin yesterday. |
| Bruce Dyer mentioned
problems with ACCPC and the membership discussed
this. |
| Susan announced some
dates to remember:
Baylor Graduation is the weekend of Dec. 15-16,
as well as May 12-13.
The last Association meeting of 2006 is a
business meeting and will be on November 7,
which is also Election Day. |
Before the meeting closed,
it was mentioned by (?) that the members present
should introduce themselves to help the new members
to get to know everyone.
Treasurer’s Report:
given by Susan Mazanec. Current balance of the
Association bank account is $1,631.20. Susan
mentioned upcoming debits/credits to the account:
receipt of $50 check for new member dues (Texas Star
B&B); the upcoming bill from local Firmin Business
Forms, which will be $500 plus. She also said that
Firmin beat the other best bid from Pressman; and
finally, the bill for $600 for the ads in the Baylor
2006-2007 calendar. Joanne Heitmiller made a motion
to accept the report, Marcia Boggs seconded, and the
motion passed.
